"Everything began with a zeppelin hall and a few hundred airline passengers, today 35.000 passengers go through our ultra-modern Terminals daily", says Michael Eggenschwiler, chairman of the management at the Hamburg Airport. He looks forward to the anniversary on 10th January, 2011, which starts at the Hamburg Town Hall with an official reception for invited guests.
Soon everybody can ask about events planned or even apply for the competition newsletter on the anniversary web site www.100-jahre-hamburg-airport.de. And no mistakes about it, this summer Germany's fifth largest airport will host an Open air concert, under the Schleswig-Holstein music festivals programme where the artists then play directly on the taxiway.
The “Experience Flying” days are on the programme for the 24th and 25th of September, 2011. A weekend full of historical and modern aeroplanes and one great celebration in the terminals and the airport Plaza, which besides a stage-programme will also offer a job market, travel fair and sightseeing flights. The admission for this event is free.
Happy birthday!
